    Accessibility Statement

    Last updated: March 8, 2026

    Our Commitment

Twin Oaks Tree Service is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make twinoakstrees.com accessible to the widest possible audience.

    Conformance Standard

We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA also supports compliance with:

    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — Title III requirements for public accommodations.
    • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — Federal accessibility standards.
    • European Accessibility Act (EAA) and EN 301 549 — For international visitors.

    Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following measures to ensure accessibility:

    Navigation & Structure

    • Skip to Main Content link available on every page for keyboard users.
    • Semantic HTML elements (<header>, <main>, <nav>, <footer>, <section>) for proper document structure and screen reader navigation.
    • Consistent, predictable navigation across all pages.
    • Proper heading hierarchy (single <h1> per page, logical nesting).
    • ARIA landmarks and labels on navigation regions.

    Visual Design

    • Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
    • Information is never conveyed by color alone.
    • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
    • No content flashes more than three times per second.

    Keyboard Accessibility

    • All interactive elements (links, buttons, form controls, menus) are operable via keyboard.
    • Visible, high-contrast focus indicators on all focusable elements.
    • Focus traps implemented correctly for modal dialogs and the mobile navigation menu.
    • Logical tab order throughout all pages.

    Content & Media

    • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images.
    • Decorative images marked with aria-hidden="true" or empty alt="".
    • All form fields have associated <label> elements or aria-label attributes.
    • Error messages and form validation are programmatically associated with their fields.
    • Links are underlined in body text for visual distinction beyond color.

    Interactive Components

    • Cookie consent banner is fully keyboard-accessible with proper ARIA roles.
    • Chat widget supports keyboard navigation.
    • Mobile call-to-action bar is accessible to screen readers.

    Testing & Evaluation

We evaluate the accessibility of twinoakstrees.com through a combination of:

    • Automated testing: Axe, Lighthouse, and WAVE accessibility evaluation tools.
    • Manual testing: Keyboard-only navigation, screen reader testing (VoiceOver on macOS/iOS, NVDA on Windows).
    • Responsive testing: Verification across mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports.
    • Color contrast analysis: Using specialized contrast-checking tools.

    Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas may not yet be fully accessible:

    • Third-party content: Embedded services such as Google Maps may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We provide equivalent information in text form where possible (e.g., our address is displayed as text alongside the map).
    • PDF documents: If any downloadable documents are provided in the future, we will work to ensure they are tagged for accessibility.

    Reporting Accessibility Issues

We take accessibility feedback seriously. If you encounter any barriers while using our website, please contact us so we can address the issue promptly:

When reporting an issue, please include:

    • The page URL where you encountered the issue.
    • A description of the problem and the assistive technology used (if applicable).
    • Your preferred contact method for follow-up.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and resolve issues within 10 business days where technically feasible.

    Continuous Improvement

Twin Oaks Tree Service views accessibility as an ongoing effort. We regularly review and update our website to maintain and improve accessibility. This statement will be updated as we make further improvements or identify new standards to adopt.
